syntheticdocs allows you to upload a variety of documents that is then processed by our AI, and used to generate your text.

To upload a source, open a project, and open the right-hand side panel. Scroll to the section titled “Sources”. Click “Upload”, and select the documents you’d like to use in your project.

The allowed formats are

  • PDFs (.pdf)
  • Word documents (.docx)
  • And plain text files (.txt)

First, the document will be uploaded, and then they will be processed by our AI. This duration of this can vary depending on the size of your document. This process happens in the background, so you may continue working while this process completes.

Source names

After your source document is finished processing, you will see the filename, as well as the name our AI suggested for your source. This is the name that will show as a reference in your generated document.

To change the name of the source, click the edit button (pen icon) next to the source name. This will present a popup, allowing you to input a new name. After changing the name, you will have to generate the document again to see the updated source names.

Large documents

If it takes longer than a few minutes for our AI to process your uploaded source, you will see an informational message informing you. We suggest you wait a while, and then reload the page. If the stars are still twinkling, then your document hasn’t finished processing. You will need to refresh again to get the latest status.

Deleting sources

To delete a source, click the icon of the rubbish bin.

If you have deleted a source that was previously used as a source by a text block, the affected text block will show a badge that says “Outdated”.

You can update the text block by clicking the “Outdated” badge, or by clicking the send button (paper plane icon) again.
